Virtual Fitness Coaching via MS Teams
Our Fitness Team will be offering 30 minutes virtual training sessions via MS Teams between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday-Friday. If you are interested in virtual training please email Donna Foust or Tarha Young to express your interest in the program and provide days and times that you would be available to connect.

Virtual Fitness Classes via MS Teams
Our Fitness Staff will be offering 30-minute fitness classes via MS Teams 3 to 4 during these times, 7:00a, 11:30a, 12:00p, 3:30p, 4:00p and 5:00p Monday – Friday, please see the schedule for the days and times of classes. We will email the schedule out to those who are interested.  If you are interested in virtual classes please email Donna Foust or Tarha Young.

Customized Program Design
Interested in a new program but don’t have the time to connect virtually? Our Fitness Team can set up a 30-minute phone call with you to discuss your goals as well as what equipment you have available to you to create a customized workout program for you to complete on your own time. To get started please email Donna Foust or Tarha Young.

Online Challenges/Tips/Newsletters/Videos
During this time, we will be sending weekly newsletters via email to provide useful health and wellness tips, as well as providing fun challenges and incentives that can be completed from home to help you stay on track with your fitness. Should you not wish to receive these types of emails during this time simply respond back requesting to be removed from the distribution list.

NASA, Aquila Launch Employee Fitness & Wellness Program

 MIAMI, FL -- November 14, 2018 -- Aquila is pleased to announce a partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to focus on employees' health and fitness. NASA has awarded a multi-year contract to Aquila to implement a health & wellness program for its employees and contractors.

 Aquila President & CEO Yvan Miklin said he's honored to serve NASA employees. "We are looking forward to supporting the women and men behind the space exploration program," Miklin said. "Good health is about fitness, but it's also about positive lifestyle change and building a support system. The leaders at NASA recognize that Aquila's unique approach addresses the whole person and has a history of measurable results."

 The Aquila-NASA employee wellbeing partnership will be supported by the guidelines from the NASA's Office of the Chief Health and Medical Officer.

The OCHMO oversees the health of astronauts participating in manned space travel, as well as health and wellness offerings for the space program's more than 18,000 employees. While space travel tests the limits of human endurance, Miklin said Aquila's primary focus will be the everyday health and wellbeing of the NASA employee population.

 "The way Aquila approaches fitness and health is different because it's customized to the individual," Miklin said. "Our goal is to start a different kind of conversation with employees about their health - one that honors where they are on their unique journey and uses proven techniques and data to help them achieve their goals."

Starting October 1st, 2018, the NASA/Greenbelt Fitness Center will be managed by Aquila Health and Fitness.  Aquila is a full service health, fitness, wellness & lifestyle management company. We provide on-site management services for a broad spectrum of clients. Donna Foust - Health and Fitness Program Manager

A highly competent and enthusiastic personal trainer and fitness instructor with a proven ability to help people achieve their fitness goals.  Donna is certified in CPR/AED Adult/Child/Infant; Les Mills Body Pump Instructor; Les Mills Sprint; NAFTA Group Exercise Certified and NAFTA Power Cycle Certification.

 

 

Tarha Fitness Center

Tarha Young - Health and Fitness Specialist

Tarha grew up in  Baltimore, MD.  She graduated from Salisbury University receiving a B.S. in Exercise Science.  While attending Salisbury University, she was an active member in the Untouchables Dance Group, where she was also the Vice President.  She loves dancing and staying active.  Throughout her college career she taught dance classes to youth and taught Zumba to all ages.  Since college, she's been training and teaching Group Exercise classes.  She enjoys helping others to live their best life.  In addition to her degree, Tarha is a certified personal trainer.  She also holds certifications in Zumba, Spinning and CPR/AED/First Aid.

As part of the vendor change over you will need to complete a new membership packet. To complete your membership paperwork online please use the following link

If you would prefer to complete the forms via pdf fillable please see the forms located below.  Once completed please print your forms and bring them to the Fitness Center after October 1st.

You will not be charged for membership until October 1st.

Once you complete your membership paperwork, you will need to visit the Fitness Center to pick up your new keytag and update your blood pressure record.

VIRTUAL CLASSES ARE BEING OFFERED FOR MEMBERS.

 

Notes:  Classes require at least two participants and are subject to change without notice.  All classes are held in the Fitness Center unless otherwise noted.
