Spring is the time of year when strandings frequent the beaches of Virginia
If you spot a stranded marine mammal or sea turtle on the Wallops Island beaches, please call Shane Whealton of the Environmental Office at 757-824-1090 immediately.
You will be asked to provide the following information: Location, type of animal, is the animal still alive, your name, and extension.
If there is no answer, and the animal is dead, please leave a message with all the above information.
If there is no answer and the animal is alive, call Ext. 2031 or Security at Ext. 2222.
